Bruce Willis

The actor and musician Bruce Willis is well known for playing wisecracking or hard-edged characters, typically in spectacular action films. Collectively, he has appeared in films that grossed more than $2.5 billion USD. Walter Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein (West Germany) to Marlene Kassel and David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point New Jersey), both of them living on the United States military base. The family moved to the U.S. shortly after he was born, and he was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey where his mother was employed at a bank and his father was a welding as well as a factory worker. Willis was drawn to drama during high school. While working at the New York City café, his name was "discovered". Then, he was able to be seen in a few off-Broadway productions. A night, he was working as a bartender and was noticed by a casting director who liked his personality. He was looking for a bartender to play a small role in a movie. Willis auditioned for a range of roles in movies, but he was not credited. He ultimately got the part of David Addison, a private eye, alongside Cybill Shepherd in the romantic comedy series Moonlighting (1985). His sarcastic humor and wittiness as a P.I. is one of the highlights of his career. Some view it as an opportunity to practice for Willis as McClane in Die Hard (1988), in which he fought the thieves of a gang from an Los Angeles skyscraper. In Die Hard 2 (1990) in which he reprised the role. The group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers is trying to return a corrupt South American general. They are located in Washington's Dulles International Airport. A record-breaking box office performance prompted the sequel Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), this time co-starring Samuel L. Jackson as a cynical Harlem shop owner who has been sucked to assist McClane in a bombing campaign on a scorching day in New York.
